While I understand not all readers enjoy content warning pages, I felt it necessary to offer a few words of caution. This book is suitable for anyone 18+. If you are a sensitive reader, please be aware that this book contains:

• Mature language

• Blood, gore, and violence

• Overcoming suicidal ideations

• Accepting one’s sexual identity / coming out

• An injured animal (but I promise he’s fine! I would kill off every character before anything happens to our darling Cricket!)

• Implied sexual content

• Death of a child/children

• Implied sexual assault

If you are particularly sensitive to the last point, please consider skipping the queen’s perspective in chapter 19. While it was important for me to tell the queen’s full story to understand her anger, this particular topic is quite heavy. Sadly, it is a staple of women’s history, and one we cannot ignore. If you want to understand her character, but don’t wish to read her section, search the cause of Boudicca’s rebellion and you’ll quickly understand.
